The Voluntary Sector Studies Network is very proud that our Executive Officer, Dr Meg Wright, has been awarded an MBE in the Birthday Honours List.
Meg has been recognised for her outstanding service to the voluntary sector across the UK. Of special focus in her award is the support Meg has provided to organisations going through a period of transition or crisis. Meg also developed and delivered a service-learning programme for medical students at the University of St. Andrews and supported the University of Dundee medical school to develop a similar programme. These programmes gave medical students the opportunity to spend time with local charities, leading to a greater understanding of the social determinants of health and enhanced communication skills for the students.
Since joining VSSN earlier this year Meg has become a core part of the team, as we deliver our new strategic plan, and continue our exciting range of events, grants, and other work.
Many congratulations Dr Meg Wright MBE!
